The Big Three#

These are the shortcuts you'll use constantly:

⌘T - Translate selected strings. Select one or a hundred, hit the shortcut, and watch the translations appear. This is your workhorse.

⌘⇧T - Translate all untranslated strings in the current language. Useful when you've added new source strings and want to catch them all at once.

⌘R - Mark as reviewed. After you've verified a translation looks good, mark it so you know not to check it again.

Editing Workflow#

Double-click a translation to edit it inline. Once you're editing:

  • (Return) - Confirm your edit and automatically advance to the next string
  • (Escape) - Cancel and discard your changes

The return-to-advance behavior is intentional. It lets you flow through translations: edit, confirm, edit, confirm—no mouse needed.

Pro Tips#

Batch select, then translate. Click the first string, shift-click the last, then ⌘T. You can translate 50 strings as easily as one.

Keep one hand on the keyboard. The whole translate-review cycle can be done without touching the mouse: ⌘T to translate, arrow keys to navigate, ⌘R to mark reviewed.

Review as you go. Get in the habit of hitting ⌘R after confirming each translation. It's faster to review while the context is fresh than to do a second pass later.

That's it. Five shortcuts to memorize, and you'll be localizing apps like it's nothing. The mouse can stay in its corner.
